I am running in the municipal elections of 2025!
I want to build a society which takes care of every one of us equally, regardless of our backgrounds. Helsinki must have room for every one of it’s residents!
My election themes:
- Let’s make Helsinki the best city in Finland for students!
- Helsinki for everyone: More affordable housing, lower costs in public services – let’s cut the public transport fees!
- Early intervention creates future well-being: preventative social and healthcare services must be accessible!
Who am I?
I am Erica Alaluusua, a 31-year-old social policy advisor whose home is in Kallio, Helsinki. I work with income and housing questions of students in universities of applied sciences. I am a bachelor of culture and arts on my educational background, focusing on journalism. At the moment I’m studying social change and social sciences at the University of Helsinki along with doing my day job. In my free time I run, take care of my house plants and enjoy literature and music.

Who can vote in municipal elections?
In the 2025 county elections, citizens of Finland, other EU Member States, Iceland and Norway who reside in a wellbeing services county and reach the age of 18 years on election day 13 April 2025 at the latest are entitled to vote. In addition, other foreign citizens aged 18 or over who reside in a wellbeing services county are entitled to vote if they have resided in Finland uninterruptedly for at least two years.
